The blog has seen two dry days in a row when no new posts were made. It is something unusual for the blog but it cannot be avoided. As it is, I was travelling all these days. In fact my travel is not over yet. I have to commence my return journey from today and it will be another couple of days before I arrive back at my base.

I normally try and post even when I am travelling and I am on train. But it was not possible because of various reasons. For instance, you cannot post perched atop side upper berth of AC sleeper coach where you do not have a charging point. :) So I lost valuable journey time that I could have used in blogging.

At the end of that train journey, I found myself in the ilaaka of Sudhir Ji. But before I could meet him, I had to attend to some important matters. I was wondering if I would be able to find enough time for all the activities, seeing that I had an afternoon train to catch. Fortunately I was able to get my other important jobs done by noon and I was ready to meet Sudhir Ji.

I met him and spent just over three hours with him. He told me that likeminded music enthusiasts have a get together every thursday (and today was thursday) but the get together was called off because of lack of enough participants this time. He phoned Mr Bakhshish Singh, one of the active participants of these get togethers, and he joined us soon enough.

We discussed matters of national and international importance, like which city had how many blog regulars. :) I opined that Bangalore and Mumbai had a good concentration of regulars whereas National capital lagged behind in this matter. :) I was informed that regulars may be lesser but there were many who were familiar with the blog. Mr Bakshish Singh reeled off some names. Both Bakshish Singh and Sudhir Ji opined that I should make an elaborate plan the next time so that we could get to meet some of the amazing HFM enthusiasts who live in these parts of the world.

The YIPPEE project spearheaded by Pradeep Raghunathan was also discussed. During the discussion, some rare facts of HFM was mentioned such as the fact that Nirupa Roy is the lyricist of a song (which is erroneously mentioned as written by Bharat Vyas in the blog). Then there is one “Khazanchi”(1941) song where HFGK is not sure about the singer’s identity, but the blog is sure about her identity- that it is sung by Ghulam Haider’s wife. :)

I was in an online conversation with Pradeep Raghunathan before I had boarded my train. Do not forget to get pictures- he had reminded me. Neither I nor Sudhir ji know how to click selfies, I had told him. He hoped that there would be others to click our photos. I remembered this conversation and asked the youngster near us to click our photos in either my mobile or Sudhir Ji’s mobile. “Arre, he has got an iphone”-Sudhir ji pointed out. In other words he, like most youngsers knew everything about taking pictures on mobiles etc. He clicked the pictures of three of us and emailed them to Sudhir ji, and he in turn emailed them to me.

I boarded by afternoon train and arrived at my next destination at midnight. There, instead of going to sleep, I opened my computer (for the first time in 36 hours and checked the email, and put up a get together picture on facebook. I was toying up with the idea of posting a writeup too, but it was 1 A M at midnight at that time and I decided to try and get some sleep instead.

When I woke up in the morning, I felt like a student who had missed two days of classes.:) And these two days happened to be days when some important artists had their anniversaries ! But then it is not the first time in the month that I have been unable to post on the occasion of such anniversaries.

I was wondering what song to post and I spent some time searching for some songs. During my search, I came across a song that I had planned to discuss during an earlier anniversary in the month but was unable to do so at that time.

So here is this duet song from “Khuda Kasam”(1981). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. It is picturised on Vinod Khanna and Tina Munim. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

kuchch kuchch kuchch kuchch kuchch
